The heart-ceasing moment a two-year-old kid was charged at by a lion at a zoo in Japan was caught on camera.
A video shot at Chiba Zoological Park demonstrates the little child and predator locking eyes for a few seconds before the boy turns his back. Impulse assumes control and the lion surges at him and jumps, just to hammer into the glass mass of his fenced in area.
The kid is seen jumping in reverse in fright.
While it may create the impression that the lion hinted at chasing its prey, zookeepers said the 181kg cat just needed to play.
Be that as it may, lion expert Adam M. Roberts, who is CEO of Born Free USA, told The Dodo:”Lions are natural wild predators and the child in this video, especially when turning his back to the massive feline, becomes prey in the animal’s eyes. But luckily for the family, if the barrier had not held the consequences could have been catastrophic.”
