Fans of Canadian pop star Justin Bieber are probably going to see him touch base at the DY Patil stadium in a chopper on May 10. “To avoid the city’s infamous traffic snarls, Bieber is likely to take a chopper to travel from his hotel to the stadium. A group of 40 bouncers will accompany him,” said an official from the organising team.
Bieber will perform in Mumbai as a piece of the Asia leg of his reality visit. He will remain at one of the city’s 5-star inns.
“The gates of the stadium will open at 2 pm and the show will start two hours later. Bieber is likely to start his performance by 7 pm or 7.30 pm and continue till 10.30 pm,” she said.
A few Bollywood stars will supposedly perform with the star. “Actor Jacqueline Fernandez recently confirmed her participation. We are also coordinating with several other Bollywood actors,” she said.
A group is working round-the-clock to set up the stage and make other a minute ago game plans, she said.
The Navi Mumbai police have organized watertight security inside and outside the stadium upon the arrival of the show.
“The venue will closely monitored by drone cameras. A live feed will be sent to the control room. While the organisers in charge of crowd management and ticket checking have engaged private security agencies, the police’s main job is to provide security and act swiftly in case of emergencies,” said Hemant Nagrale, police commissioner of Navi Mumbai.
“Security checks will start on Monday morning. All vehicles entering and leaving the city will be monitored. Officials will be deployed at the Sion-Panvel highway, Thane-Belapur road, and Palm Beach Road,” said Prashant Khaire, deputy commissioner of police (zone 1).
“A centralized sound system will also be at our disposal during the concert. In the case of an emergency, all other sound systems will be switched off. We will use this one to make announcements or convey urgent messages to the crowd,” said Tushar Doshi, deputy commissioner of police (special branch).
