Matt Damon goes mini in Venice opener ‘Downsizing’

The Venice Film Festival is commencing with “Downsizing,” featuring Matt Damon in a show with a sci-fi introduce and a humanist heart.

Damon plays an unhappy  everyman who tries to tackle his issues – and help spare the planet – by experiencing a test strategy that psychologists him to 5 inches (12 cm) tall.

Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz and Hong Chau additionally highlight in the motion picture from “Sideways” chief Alexander Payne.

The film combines Payne’s wry eye for human quirks with a story that investigates the power and points of confinement of science and the danger of natural calamity.

“Downsizing” has its celebrity main street debut Wednesday to open the seventh Venice Film Festival.

A few late Venice openers, including “Gravity” and “Fantasy world,” have gone ahead to win different Oscars.
