Rajinikanth–Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson starrer, 2.0, is perhaps the most anticipated movie, and is touted to be the biggest movie of 2018, which is all set to break the records of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali. While the looks of Thalaivaa and Akshay Kumar were released earlier this year, Amy’s was left to be unveiled. And today, the first poster of the actress is out and boy are we impressed! Filmmaker Shankar took to Twitter to unveil the look, thereby announcing that the film’s final song went on floors today.
Going by the poster, it looks as if Amy is essaying the role of a robot in the film. Amy’s look and role in the film was one of the best kept secrets of 2.0 until a couple of stills from the film were leaked in June this year, and we had got a feeling since then that she would be seen as a robot in the film. However, when she was probed then, Amy had told The Times of India that she would not be playing an Android robot as Rajinikanth’s Chitti. “No! Definitely not! I cannot say anything more about the role. It is quite a challenging one, and if I talk about it, I would give away the entire plot. All I can say is, it’s something I have never done before. However, today’s look confirms that she is infact playing the role of a robot.
Shankar has also begun shooting for a song, featuring both, Rajinikanth and Amy, at an extravagant set erected in Chennai, which is said to cost crores of rupees. While the film is now in its post production phase, the song was the only thing left to be shot. Composed by AR Rahman, the song shoot is expected to go on for the next 11 days. Talking about the same, Amy had revealed, “Apart from the 12-day song shoot, I had been told to block at least 10 days for rehearsals. Shankar works like that, so for the song, you have to block the whole month. But then, the results are always fabulous. From past experiences on I (Shankar’s film), the song ‘Ennodu Nee Irundhal’ took us 14 days to film. Bosco choreographed it and I think he’s doing it again for 2.0.”
