WATCH: Shawn Mendes’ #LostInJapanVideo is a hit

Shawn Mendes and Zedd dropped their remix music video for “Lost In Japan” on Thursday, and fans are loving it.

In the video — which is a remix of his hit song featured on his self-titled studio album released in May — Shawn sings about how he falls for a girl and travels to Japan to find her.

Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why” actress Alisha Boe stars as his love interest.

The video is also a stunning homage to the 2003 romantic offbeat comedy “Lost In Translation, ” starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson.

It even features the famous hotel scene where Murray sits forlornly on the bed before a prostitute comes knocking on his door, asking to “lick his stockings.”

This music video could truly be one of Mendes’ best offerings yet, as fans took to social media to express their appreciation for his craft.

Shortly after the hashtag #LostInJapanVideo started trending, the Canadian singer and songwriter responded in kind, by thanking his fans for the positive response to his video. Taking to Twitter he wrote: “Laughing reading all your comments about it!! so happy you guys like it! I LOVE U (sic)”
