Becky Lynch would turn heel just to make social media more fun

WWE superstar Becky Lynch was recently interviewed by GamesRadar to promote WWE 2K17, and she had some very interesting things to say.

It’s no secret that Lynch had always been a video gamer growing up. But who were her favorite characters from her favorite games?

“I’m an old-school gamer,” she said. “I had a Sega [Mega Drive], Commodore 64, Game Boy. I love Pac-man, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter. Ryu is my favourite-ever character – I’d love to leapfrog the Hadouken.”

“The Lass Kicker” has helped to revolutionize women’s wrestling, along with Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Bayley. Their time on the main roster has changed the way that wrestling fans look at females forever.

“The real revolution wasn’t hashtagged,” says Lynch. “It was just a case of us slowly doing our job well. We were given the opportunity to do that, and then got brought up onto the main roster and [the revolution] became this bigger thing. But the real thing happened much more quietly, without any big fuss.”

Ever since her debut on the main roster in July 2015, Lynch has always been the outgoing, fiery superstar that has become a huge fan favorite. However, she has a nefarious side, as was seen in her time in NXT when she was feuding with Bayley. Does she want to reignite that side of her character?

“Oh, 100 per cent,” she laughs. “And [I’ll do it] when people least expect it! Mostly for social media: Twitter or Instagram becomes so much more fun when you can be boastful and say whatever you want. You can be so full of yourself and ridiculous when you’re a heel.”
