Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur’s OK Jaanu seems to have one hit song after the other. First, the title track OK Jaanu won over audiences and now, they’ve done it again with the Humma remix. Badshah provides the song with some intense rap verses while AR Rahman’s original melody sets a perfect contrast. The song is an amazing trip back in time and much like Arvind Swamy and Manisha Koirala’s chemistry in the original, Shraddha and Aditya sizzle up the screen, if in a more overt manner.

Shraddha released the video on Twitter today, 12 minutes earlier than the scheduled time of 4 pm. Based on the reaction of viewers on Twitter and YouTube, the song is going to be a hit. The video draws a lot from its Tamil counterpart Maayedho Cheyyava from Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani. Particularly, the pinkish tint the video has been filmed in and the impossibly fancy bedroom in which the song takes place. The enduring popularity of Humma, which AR Rahman composed for the 1995 hit Bombay, is another triumph for composer, who recently received an Oscar nomination for the third time for his work in Pele: Rise Of A Legend.
OK Jaanu has received a very positive response for its trailer, except for fans of the original OK Kanmani. However, Dulquer Salmaan, who starred in the Tamil original, recently came out in praise of the film. He wrote on Twitter, “This is such a wonderful take on #OKKanmani ! Lots of love to Karan, Shaad, Aditya, Shraddha and the whole team.” The film is set to release on January 13 next year and follows the story of Tara (Shraddha) and Adi (Aditya), a pair which doesn’t believe in marriage and therefore decide to have a live-in. However, as it comes time for them to part ways, the pair finds their relationship was more difficult than they had earlier anticipated.
