Emraan Hashmi is famous for his performances in the franchise films like Raaz, Murder and Jannat. But the actor doesn’t feel that doing sequels of films is an easy formula for success.
Talking about it, Emraan stated to a leading tabloid, “Raaz is a closed chapter. I don’t want to do another one in that series.”
He further stated, “I don’t want to be part of a sequel just for the sake of it.”
Emraan also spoke about how franchises always don’t give success at the box-office. He said, “For many actors, sequels or franchise films are like a safety net. But recently, we had many examples of sequels that haven’t worked. Making sequels is becoming tricky, as the audience has become intelligent and will watch it only if it interests them.”
Emraan has given hits by working with his family that is Vishesh Films. So, will he work with them again? To which the talented actor replied, “We will only work together if something substantial comes up. I am sure if Bhatt Saab [Mahesh Bhatt] has a script in mind for me, he will bounce it off.”
Recently, when Emraan Hashmi was asked about Nepotism by a leading daily, the actor said, “Yes, nepotism exists in our industry, and I got a break because of it. If my uncle [Mahesh Bhatt], who is a producer and director, hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t have been an actor.”
He stressed on the fact that his case was different. He said, “My case was different. There was no dying need for me to become an actor or be a part of this industry. I had just finished college and I stepped into films.”
