While most regular, non-famous people might make their way through a break up by eating copious amounts of chocolate, or taking a small retail therapy shopping trip, Zayn Malik has opted to get over his split from Gigi Hadid by purchasing an incredible penthouse in New York.
According to Street Easy, the singer dropped a casual USD $10.7 million (approx AUD $13.9 million) on a new 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom 3,600-square-foot industrial chic apartment in the SoHo area. Zayn’s new digs features exposed brick, lofted ceilings, a chefs kitchen, and a large outdoor deck.
The couple are reported to have broken up some time in February, which would explain why Zayn’s purchase of the apartment has been in contract since Valentine’s Day, and closed on March 13th, the same day the split was announced. While the couple were in a relationship, Zayn spent his time in NYC in Gigi’s own apartment, so it makes sense that as the relationship came to an end he began searching for a permanent home in the city.
