South Korean pop sensation BTS love to surprise their fans and the band’s latest album Love Yourself: Answer is the gift that keeps on giving.
The album features the lead single Idol, which entered the history books when it broke the YouTube record for the most-viewed music video debut, hitting over 45 million views in 24 hours and beating Taylor Swift’s 43.2 million for Look What You Made Me Do.
It also became the fastest music video to reach 100 million views in 2018.
Just hours before the highly anticipated album was due to be released at the end of August, BTS surprised fans by dropping a remix version of Idol featuring the rapper Nicki Minaj, and now, two weeks later, the band has surprised their Army once more with a video of the remixed version.
Matching the video’s ultra-bright aesthetic, Minaj sports a neon green hair colour and colourful clothes, all while taking selfies on a diamond-encrusted iPhone.
The video ends with special clips of BTS fans doing the Idol Challenge, which involves fans trying to replicate the complicated and fast-paced choreography of the K-Pop seven-piece.
It was posted on YouTube on September 6 and has already been seen nearly 11 million times as of September 7.
